About TLA

Tim is a California State Licensed Architect with experience in residential, store planning, commercial retail and special events planning involving all phases of architectural services. As a store planner, he designed prototypes and developed store layouts for major retailers. He has worked on store concepts, signage programs, fixturing and interiors for a number of retail chains and specialty stores.

 

For twelve years Tim applied his architectural and organizational skills in the unique niche market of large-scale special event planning and temporary environment installations for major sporting events and themed environments. This included corporate branding for sports teams, a number of Disney projects, museum projects. This included numerous sports team marketing programs, stadium improvements and signage projects, corporate brand identity campaigns, commercial shoots around the country.

 

Tim moved to Chico from San Francisco over four years ago. He has designed a number of custom homes in Northern California including a 15,000sf home in Richardson Springs (under construction fall ’08) and a 4,300sf custom solar home in the Greenhorn Creek Development in Angels Camp, CA (Complete Spring ‘08).

Tim receintly completed a 45’ x 80’ steel frame with wood & stone clad pool structure " A Poolcover for all Seasons" for a family farmer near Chico along the West Nile flyway (Mosquito Heaven) near the Sacramento River. This has solved their serious mosquito problem. There is a restaurant kitchen, BBQ, fountain, patio/lounge/dining area and a ping pong/pool table etc. There are passive and active design and structural systems for lighting, thermal and ventilation control.  It is fully wired for sound, live music, internet, cable, intercom, neon signage and a flatscreen for watching Super Bowl or the evening news.  Since it was completed in June of this year, the owners have enjoyed a number of family & friend gatherings. 
 

Tim’s office is in Chico. He is working with several local contractor/developers on residential and commercial projects.Tim is an experienced kayaker, equestrian, inventor, light designer and manufacturer of a several products sold in local specialty shops and nationally:  Made in Chico, Zucchini & Vine and Bird in Hand in Chico and OMEGA II and Metro Lighting in Berkeley. He is currently working in his spare time on two backyard clay oven prototype designs called Chico Clay Ovens and a series of lights using glass insulators and traffic signals.
